It's a joy, it's a nightmare - or it's just not happening.

Our first relationships are more or less inevitably a strange and often wonderful experiment - in which we make mistakes and discoveries, generally grow as human beings - and some would say that's the way our closest, most intimate relationships will be for the whole of our adult lives.
